The 2023 US Open quarterfinals will start on Tuesday. The event at Flushing Meadows is down the final three rounds. Both the men’s and singles draws have cut the field in half four times. There are only eight players remaining in each draw. At this year’s US Open, there are enough Americans in each draw to make the tournaments very interesting for partisan American tennis fans. Here’s a look at the schedule for both Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium for September 5th, 2023, with a focus on American players.

Arthur Ashe Stadium: Start Time Noon ET (2023 US Open Quarterfinals)

Arthur Ashe Stadium will start at Noon ET on Tuesday. The first match of the day will feature the top American remaining in the women’s singles draw. Coco Gauff, the No. 6 seed, will face Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia. She is the tournament’s No. 20 seed. However, Ostapenko did the dirty work in this section of the draw. She eliminated Iga Swiatek in the fourth round, the defending champion at the US Open and the World No. 1.

Gauff is a 2 to 5 favorite to win this match at -250 with bet365. However, it definitely will not be easy. When she was at her best, Ostapenko was a Grand Slam champion. She defeated Simona Halep in the final of the 2017 French Open. That was a long time ago but the Latvian player has fried bigger fish than the one she’s challenged with on Tuesday.

Taylor Fritz, an American player in the men’s draw, will follow the Gauff vs Ostapenko match. Fritz is facing a career match in the men’s quarterfinals. He is playing the best tennis of his career. If there was ever a time when he would defeat Novak Djokovic, then it would be now. But Fritz will be trying to shake off a 0-7 trend against him when he faces the Serb on Tuesday. This match will likely start between 2 PM and 3 PM but the starting time is dependent on when the Gauff match finishes.

The final match of the day in Arthur Ashe Stadium is an All-American semifinal. Ben Shelton will Frances Tiafoe. These two Americans are eyeing a spot in the semifinal. The winner will face either Djokovic or Fritz.

Louis Armstrong Stadium: Start Time 11 AM ET

Louis Armstrong Stadium is no longer featuring matches from the singles draw. However, there are a lot of American players that will be in the doubles draws playing on that court.

Rajeev Ram, Bernarda Pera, Jennifer Brady, Taylor Townsend, Jessica Pegula, and Austin Krajicek are all scheduled for doubles matches in the stadium on Tuesday.
