Tom Brady, despite being retired, made some recent NFL headlines on Friday. ESPN headlined “Report: Tom Brady lost $30M in collapse of crypto giant FTX” (July 7th, 2023). The main point of the news is that Brady had an agreement where he would plug for a cryptocurrency and receive $30M in stock which is “now-worthless stock.”

Dov Kleiman tweeted about this matter as well. In his tweet, he includes Brady’s ex-wife Gisele and claims that they reportedly lost $48M. If Brady lost $30M, then it looks like Gisele lost $18M.

Who would have thought that cryptocurrency would crash?

NFL 2023/24 Season: Two Months To Go

The start of the 2023/24 NFL is two months away to the date. The Detroit Lions will face the Kansas City Chiefs on September 7th, 2023. That will be the Thursday night game for Week 1, meaning it’s a stand-alone game.

The Chiefs are the defending Super Bowl champions. Furthermore, they are the betting favorites to win the championship again next season at 6 to 1 with bet365. Detroit did come on strong last season and the Week 1 game holds a little bit of intrigue due to that. However, in the big picture, the Lions are considered a middle-power at best at 22 to 1 to win the Super Bowl. For Detroit, those are actually pretty short odds to win the NFL’s championship.

The Lions have been in the news lately due to a viral video from one of their players, Jameson Williams. Heavy.com headlined “Lions WR Jameson Williams in Hot Water Over Viral Fourth of July Video.” There’s a video showing someone lighting what appears to be fireworks on a sidewalk.

There’s not a lot coming out of KC’s camp these days, except for talk about their efforts in free agency. Will the rich get richer again in time for the game against the Lions? Currently, bet365 has KC as a -7.0 favorite.
