The Miami Marlins lost another one on Saturday. They fell to the Colorado Rockies 4-3 in a game that Miami hosted. The Marlins have now lost eight straight games and they are in danger of being swept for the third straight series.

All of their woes seem to be correlational with the end of the All-Star break. Prior to the break, Miami had won five of seven. They were never a threat for the NL East pennant as the Atlanta Braves are too good this season. However, Miami remains in the Wild Card picture.

Miami Marlins vs Colorado Rockies on July 23rd, 2023

Heading into Sunday, the Marlins are not in bad shape. They are among five teams that are within a game and a half of one another. Miami will finish its series against Colorado in an early game (1:40 PM ET) on Sunday. The Rockies enter as +210 underdogs with bet365 while Miami is favored at -250.

Miami is now a small underdog to make the 2023 MLB playoffs. They are 11 to 10 (+110) with bet365 sportsbook to qualify. The same firm offers -140 on them to miss. It seems that the oddsmakers and/or bettors are starting to lose confidence in this Miami club, one that had a surprising start in the first half of the season.

This is a team that has not been overly analyzed in media markets. However, they are thought to be buyers as the 2023 trade deadline approaches (Jordan McPherson/July 18th, 2023). The way things stand, it definitely looks like they need some help. The trade deadline is August 1st, 2023.
